Boston City Council voted on Thursday, June 21, to approve the first batch of Boston Community Preservation funding requests.
Thirty-five projects across the city were awarded funds totaling just over $8 million.
“I am thrilled to see preservation projects in Boston get the funding they need through CPA,” said Alison Frazee, director of advocacy at the Alliance. Since 2017, Frazee has served as Co-Chair of the Steering Committee for Yes for a Better Boston and provides technical assistance to the community. “Everyone is excited to get the first round of projects in the ground. I look forward to working with applicants to prepare for future rounds so that together we can preserve Boston’s historic character.”
The pilot round of CPA awarded $2,756,445 in funds to historic preservation and $1,330,900 in funds to blended projects in historic preservation and open and green space.
The next round of applications will start August 15. Eligibility forms are due Friday, September 7. The application deadline is Friday, September 28 at 4 p.m.
