INTERNSHIPS

The Boston Preservation Alliance offers internships to graduate and undergraduate students to help train the next generation of preservationists by providing real-world, hands on experience in the diversity of preservation, non-profit management, and community issues. Interns simultaneously broaden their education and complement our work as Boston’s leading historic preservation advocacy and education organization. Internships feature opportunities to engage in work in the community, on-site visits and hearings, and advocacy-oriented research and writing. A variety of project types are available.

Internships are unpaid and require a minimum commitment of 15-20 hours per week. Hours must be within the regular business day (9 am-5 pm), Monday through Friday, and must be consistent on a week-to-week basis. We look for candidates that are detail-oriented, organized, and willing to take initiative. Internships are granted competitively by merit. Preference will be given to students receiving credit for the internship or have outside funding.
