Alison Frazee

Alison Frazee joined the Boston Preservation Alliance in 2013 and has served several roles in the organization before becoming Executive Director in the spring of 2022. She is a leader in preservation initiatives across Boston. Alison was active in Yes for Better Boston, a campaign to fund historic preservation, affordable housing, and parks and green spaces through the Community Preservation Act and served as Co-Chair of the Steering Committee. Alison was appointed by the Mayor to serve on the Advisory Group for PLAN: Downtown as well as the Commemoration Commission.
In 2018, Alison was awarded the Paul & Niki Tsongas Award for the Next Generation by Preservation Massachusetts. In addition to her role as a vocal proponent for citywide planning, building reuse as climate action, and the continued use of existing building stock for affordable housing, Alison is known for being an even-handed negotiator for competing stakeholders and a frequent speaker on preservation issues. She holds a Master of Historic Preservation from the University of Kentucky and a Bachelor of Arts in Historic Preservation from the University of Mary Washington.
Matthew Dickey

Matthew Dickey is an artist, cyclist, and dedicated urbanist based in Boston. As the Deputy Director for the Boston Preservation Alliance, Matthew is pivotal in highlighting and celebrating Boston’s unique architectural heritage. His Instagram presence as StreetscapeCurator highlights the intricate details and hidden stories of Boston’s streets, fostering a deeper appreciation for the city’s rich architectural tapestry. As Deputy Director, Matthew aims to elevate and amplify the stories that make Boston, Boston.
Matthew was previously a Young Advisor for the Alliance. In 2018, he was selected to travel with the National Trust for Historic Preservation along Route 66 as part of the Preserve Route 66 campaign. He is an official Accidentally Wes Anderson Ambassador and a regular contributor with curious adventures such as the Coastal Postal Road Trip.
Through his role at the Boston Preservation Alliance and his dynamic online presence, Matthew continues to inspire and educate, making a lasting impact on the way we view and value our urban streetscapes. He holds a Master’s in Arts Administration from Boston University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. He serves on the Board of Advisors for the Shirley-Eustis House Museum and on the Board of Directors for the Dorchester Historical Society. His paintings and photographs have been displayed around the world and he makes regular appearances on the TV series, Meet Boston with Billy and Jenny.
Alejandra Baltazar

Alejandra Baltazar joined in 2023 as the Alliance’s Virtual Assistant, based in Mexico, via Wing Assistant. Among her many roles, Alejandra provides comprehensive administrative support, database management, reporting, scheduling, and research. She graduated from Hispanic Language and Literature at the Universidad Veracruzana. Passionate about language, she facilitates Reading and Writing classes, alongside personal projects exploring Mayan Cosmogony, Astrology, and Human Design Workshops. Fluent in Spanish and English, she is dedicated to deciphering language and its diverse expressions in both professional and personal endeavors.

Ajanta Farrell is a rising junior studying at Northeastern University with a focus on architectural and urban studies. She is interested in the intersection of architecture, urban planning, and historic preservation. She is passionate about utilizing the built environment as means of harboring community engagement and enrichment. As a Boston-based student, she is excited to engage with and help advocate for the city’s rich history. In her free time, Ajanta loves to play tennis and try new restaurants in Boston.

Caelan is a rising junior at Wellesley College, studying English and Creative Writing, as well as Music. They are very excited to work with and learn from a team that takes part in protecting and improving the architectural heritage of Boston. They are looking forward to furthering their writing and journalism skills under the guidance of BPA. They hope to bring people together through their stories, by advocating for the future of Boston’s architecture and environment. In their free time, they enjoy running, writing poetry, playing the flute, and making matcha lattes.
