NEWS: The Alliance Appoints New Board Chair and Elects New Board Member

The Boston Preservation Alliance is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Scoville as a new Board Chairman and the election of Sean Geary to the Board of Directors. Scoville is a Senior Vice President of Community Development Lending at Eastern Bank in Boston, where he is active with nonprofits and affordable housing. Geary is an associate portfolio manager at Acadian Asset Management and specializes in quantitative strategies and foreign exchange.

With this new appointment, Scoville moves from Treasurer to Board Chairman, succeeding Leigh Freudenheim, who has served that role admirably since 2013. Freudenheim will remain on the Board of Directors.

“The 2018 Annual Meeting marks another point of evolution in the now, 40-year-old Boston Preservation Alliance. It is a sign of the engagement of a younger generation and their growth within our ranks. This year, we bring to our Board of Directors another of our Young Advisors, making four who've followed that path,” said Greg Galer, Executive Director of the Alliance.

As a Young Advisor, Geary was an active member of Finance Committee; he now moves to the Board and will take on the role of Treasurer. Scoville joined the Alliance as a Young Advisor in 2011.
